I like to use this as a jumping off point for the rest of the class. It seems to catch their attention.

Here are some small movements that I use to illustrate:

  • “round and round..”; circle your finger around an imaginary globe
  • “high and low”; arms go up and down
  • “from oceans…” point to the imaginary different places
  • “there’s a song in my heart”; hold hands lovingly to your heart
  • “and it’s ready to dance”; do some danc-y arms gestures
  • “so lace up…”; mime lacing shoes and tying the bow
  • “across the world”; finger spins around imaginary globe again, then at the end, it whizzes off into space
