Rhythm Kids® (ages 4 years - 2nd grade)
ALL THE KANGAROOS GO HOP, HOP, HOP!
Rhythm Kids® is an exciting NEW music, movement, and drumming class supporting the Music Together® philosophy that all children can complete the pathway of early childhood music development from birth through age 8. Children will sing, dance, move, drum, and play to songs and beats from around the world while they integrate and assimilate rhythm in new ways. Families who want to continue learning at home can purchase the drum used in class, the djembe, from Music Together at a discounted price.
Students are welcome to attend by themselves but parents are allowed to sit in if so desired. You'll need some drums and percussion equipment. These can be purchased or sourced from ordinary household items including wooden spoons, plastic trash cans, and pill bottles among other things. Give us a call at (512) 474-2331. It may not account for any discounts or applicable pro-ration. Additional siblings may receive further discounts.
There will be a 3% credit card fee determined by your transaction total. If you wish to avoid this fee, please call our Registrars at (512) 474-2331 to arrange for payment by check or cash. Please be aware that your enrollment is not confirmed until payment has been received.
In-Person Classes
Sanitized instrument kits will be provided to each family. If you prefer, you can purchase an instrument kit to bring each week.
For outdoor classes: Please bring a blanket or towel for your family to sit on. Masks are optional. Recommended arrival is 15 minutes prior to class start time. Outdoor classes will take place at our Camp Craft Road campus in Westlake.
For indoor classes: Masks are currently required for anyone over the age of 5 while in the classroom. Masks are optional in the rest of the building.
Weather Plans & Policies:
If severe inclement weather is expected your class will either move inside or to ZOOM for that day. You will be notified by email the evening before class and sent the ZOOM link if applicable. Whether your class moves indoors or to ZOOM is dependent on class size. Indoor classes will have 2 HEPA air filters running for the duration of class and all attendees over the age of 5 are required to be masked. Please note that in keeping with best practices for Early Childhood programming, ZOOM sessions will be 30 minutes.
